About
By its very nature, outlaw history is
fluid – multiple dates, names, and circumstances cloud nearly every
event – what is considered gospel to one group, is blasphemy to another.
This is especially true in the case of
Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch.
One of the reasons this site was created
was to consolidate the hundreds, if not thousands, of theories, legends,
and folk tales that have attached themselves to the Wild Bunch.
The site breaks down as follows:
Players: Detailed biographies of
the major players in the Wild Bunch along with mini-bio's of those
Timeline: Comprehensive timeline
detailing the life and times of the Wild Bunch.
Places: Information relating to
the hometowns, hangouts and hideouts frequented by members of the Wild
Bunch.
Interactive Map: Powered by
Google Maps.
Image Archive: Photographs and
scans of members of the Wild Bunch, wanted posters and documents. A
companion gallery has been set up on
Flickr.
Print Archive: Transcribed
articles from the 1880's to the modern age regarding the Wild Bunch.
Resources: Books and external
links regarding the Wild Bunch.
Story Time: Stories and legends
concerning the Wild Bunch.
Message Board: Interact.
Wild Bunch Blog: News and rumors
regarding the Wild Bunch. Any corrections or updates to the site can be
found here.
About: The page you're on right
now.
Please bear in mind that this site is,
and will remain, a work in progress. Any corrections or updates will be
posted on the blog.
Feel free to leave comments, or participate on the message board and let
me know what you would like to see here.
Contributions are always welcome. If you
have any newspaper articles from back in the day, send them and we’ll
get them posted to the Print Archive. If
you have a theory, folk tale, or story that’s been passed down in your
family that you want to share, by all means send it in. As long as it
doesn’t involve an alien conspiracy of some kind, it’s likely we can
find a place for your story. The same goes
for links, if you know of a website we’ve
missed, please send us the link and we’ll get it posted.
