PAYMENT OF STATE REWARD
AMOUNT PLACED ON BANDIT’S HEAD DIVIDED
Nineteen Members of the Posse that Hunted Down Joe Walker of Robbers’ Roost to Receive 26.30 Each.

The first reward paid by the State for the capture of a member of the Robbers’ Roost gang has been allowed by the State Board of Examiners and the Auditor will issue the warrants to the parties for the killing of Joe Walker near Brook cliffs in Grand county. 

There are in all nineteen people who are entitled to a division of the $500 placed by Gov. Wells on the bandit’s head, and each will receive the sum of $26.30.

Those who will share the $500 are: William McGuire, Peter Anderson, C.W. Allred, J.W. Warf, James Ingelfield, J.O. Watson, John Gentry, all of Price; Joseph R. Bush of Salt Lake City, Thomas Brandon, Sidney Swasey, Theodore Fuller, A. Tuttle, Ira Butler, John Thompson, all of Orangeville; Bud Whitmore, George C. Whitmore, Thomas Brandon, James McPherson of Woodside, Utah.
