Catfight at the O.K. Corral
Jim Kershner, columnist for the Spokesman-Review, posted an article to his Inland Northwest History blog last November titled "Did Butch Cassidy retire to Spokane?"

The article itself is fairly brief - a quick rundown of Larry Pointer's 1977 book, In Search of Butch Cassidy - the resulting catfight in the comments section, is not.

Nearly seventy years after his death, the debate over William T. Phillips' identity still rages on. To date there have been 65 replies to Kershner's post; the majority of which consist of bickering between two camps (the real thing vs. fraud), often to the point of high (or low, depending on your point of view) comedy.

At any rate, it makes for an interesting read.
