Peaceful Piece of KC's Past Threatened
There's at least one thing that Kansas City park pioneer August Meyer, Jesse James' wife, Zerelda, meatpacker Kirkland Armour and shameless madam Annie Chambers have in common. They all share the sod of Kansas City's Elmwood Cemetery. In this place, folks who would have shot each other dead during the Missouri-Kansas border wars now lie in repose.
