It was in Afton that the brothers-in-law met their future wives-Rose Morgan (Warner) and Sary Lemberg (McCarty). Afton was founded by Mormon settlers along the Lander cutoff of the Oregon Trail.

Beaver, Utah - Robert LeRoy Parker was born in Beaver April 13, 1866; nine months later the town was formally incorporated on January 10, 1867. Beaver is also the birthplace of Philo Farnsworth who invented the cathode ray tube which made television possible. Farnsworth is listed as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people.

Belle Fourche, South Dakota - Location of the Butte County Bank robbery on June 28, 1897. Belle Fourche translates to "beautiful fork" in French (no information exists for potential sister cities, Belle Cuillère or Belle Couteau).

Big Timber, Montana - O.C. Hanks was sentenced to the Montana State Penitentiary for robbing a Great Northern train near Big Timber sometime in the 1890's.

held in Billings following their arrest near Lavina on September 22, 1897.

Brown's Park, Utah - Formerly known as Brown's Hole. Located just south of Wyoming, along the Utah and Colorado borders, Brown's Park was one of three major hideouts that formed the Outlaw Trail. Butch Cassidy found himself in Brown's Park after the Telluride bank robbery, hiring on with the Bassett family. The Bassett's daughter, Ann, was the first child born in Brown's Park, earning her the nickname, The Queen of Brown's Park.

Carlsbad, New Mexico - Elzy Lay was arrested near Carlsbad on August 16, 1899 following the robbery of a Colorado & Southern train near Folsom, New Mexico.

Casper, Wyoming - A posse led by Sheriff Josiah Hazen caught up with the Wilcox train robbers just outside of Casper. A shootout broke out ending in Hazen's death. Tom O'Day was arrested in Casper on November 23, 1903 after he was caught with a herd of stolen cattle.

Castle Gate, Utah - Location of the Pleasant Valley Coal Company. On August 21, 1897 the PVCC's payroll was robbed by Butch Cassidy and Elzy Lay.

Cortez, Colorado - Tom McCarty had a ranch in Cortez. His ranch was the site of an encounter between Butch Cassidy, Matt Warner and McCarty and a group of Indians who were upset that their horse, Ghost Face, lost a race to Warner's mare, Betty. The Sundance Kid lived and worked in Cortez for a while with his cousin, George Longenbaugh.

Deadwood, South Dakota - Currently enjoying a renaissance of interest due to the HBO series, Deadwood, the town of Deadwood is steeped in American history. "Wild Bill" Hickok was shot in the back in Deadwood while enjoying a game of poker in Saloon No. 10. Hickok is buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery, also the final resting place of Calamity Jane. Specific to the Wild Bunch, Deadwood briefly housed Walt Punteney, the Sundance Kid, Harvey Logan and Tom O'Day shortly after the Belle Fourche Bank robbery until their escape on Halloween 1897.

Delta, Colorado - Tom, Bill and Fred McCarty robbed the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Delta on September 7, 1893. Bill and Fred McCarty were killed as they attempted to escape.

Denver, Colorado - On March 30, 1889 the president of the First National Bank of Denver was approached by a man carrying a vial of, what he claimed to be, nitroglycerin. The man demanded $21,000 or else he would blow up the bank. The bank president handed over the money and the robber left the bank without incident, never to be seen again. Tom McCarty and Matt Warner are believed to have been involved in the robbery.

Grand Junction, Colorado - On November 3, 1887 a Denver & Rio Grande train was robbed five miles east of Grand Junction. Although it has never been proven, many suspect the culprits to be Butch Cassidy, Matt Warner and Tom McCarty.

Knoxville, Tennessee - Harvey Logan got into a bar fight in Knoxville on December 13, 1901. Logan was arrested a couple days later and later faced trial in Knoxville for passing stolen bank notes. He escaped from the Knoxville jail on June 27, 1903.

Landusky, Montana - The Logan brothers settled in Landusky, and were soon involved in a feud with the town's namesake Powell "Pike" Landusky. Harvey Logan killed Pike on December 27, 1894.

Lavina, Montana -It was just outside Lavina that Carbon County Sheriff John Dunn caught up with the Sundance Kid, Harvey Logan and Walt Punteney after the trio unsuccessfully attempted to bribe a town marshal in Red Lodge, Montana. Logan was wounded in the confrontation and all three outlaws arrested.

Miles City, Montana - The Sundance Kid was arrested in Miles City by Sheriff Ryan for horse theft on April 8, 1887. Sundance managed to escape from the sheriff, only to return to Miles City where he was recaptured two months later.

Monticello, Utah - The second largest city in San Juan county, Monticello was incorporated as a city in 1910. Approximately five miles northwest of Monticello was the Carlisle ranch owned by Harold and Edmund Carlisle. The brothers were known to hire outlaws, including members of the Wild Bunch.

Wyoming Territorial Prison - Built in 1872, the 190-acre facility was home to Robert LeRoy Parker (using the alias George Cassidy) from July 1894 to January 1896. While enjoying their incarceration prisoners could look forward to many activities such as broom production, creating hand-carved furniture, cigars, shoes jewelry and everyone's favorite, taxidermy. The facility was restored in 1989 and is open to the public.
