William Cruzan is
described as 5’1” tall with gray eyes and dark hair. He was born in
Texas sometime in the late 1860’s in Texas. He went on to lead a life of
a cattleman and outlaw. Cruzan was considered to be an excellent horse
thief.
Cruzan was convicted of
Grand Larceny on March 19, 1895 and sentenced to four years in prison. He
was later released on May 12, 1898.
Cruzan
is said to have joined the Wild Bunch in the robbery of a Union Pacific
train in Tipton, Wyoming on August 29, 1900.
