Harry B. Adsit - Owner of the Spectator Ranch located about forty miles outside Telluride, Colorado. Butch Cassidy and Matt Warner worked on the ranch for about a year. When they left, Adsit gave them each their choice of the horses the pair broke as a bonus. Following the San Miguel Bank robbery Cassidy and Warner, along with Tom McCarty, crossed paths with Adsit as they made their escape from Telluride. Warner recalls the moment as the point of no return for their burgeoning outlaw careers.

H.A. Alden - Cook County prosecutor. Successfully petitioned Wyoming governor Thomas Moonlight to pardon Harry A. Longabaugh.

C.W. Allred - Succeeded Gus Donant as sheriff of Carbon County, Utah. Allred led the posse that killed Joe Walker and another man, initially believed to be Butch Cassidy. The second man was eventually identified as John Herring.

Eugene Amoretti Jr. - Neighbor and friend of Butch Cassidy and Al Hainer in the Horse Creek area. Amoretti worked at his father's bank in Lander, Wyoming and witnessed Cassidy depositing a large sum of money shortly after the San Miguel Valley Bank robbery.

Pete Anderson - Member of Sheriff Allred's posse that killed Joe Walker and John Herring.

E.B. Armstrong - Sheriff. Along with Deputy Sheriff Jim Swisher, Armstrong confronted Buck Hanby (also known as Bob Minor). Hanby reached for his weapon and was killed by the two officers. The Sundance Kid was with Hanby and another man at the time.

Sam Arnold - Belle Fourche shopkeeper present during the Butte County Bank robbery. Arnold handed over the $97.00 he brought to deposit to the outlaws. It would be the only money they would get from the robbery.

Harry Bass - Joined the Sundance Kid and Bill Madden in the robbery of a Great Northern train in Malta, Montana. Bass was arrested with Madden shortly after the robbery and sentenced to ten years in the state penitentiary in Deer Lodge, Montana.

Ann Bassett - Daughter of Herb and Elizabeth Bassett. Bassett is known as the "Queen of Brown's Park" as she was the first child born the area on May 12, 1878. Some believe that Bassett and Etta Place are one in the same. The two women do share similar features, but it is generally accepted that they are two separate people. Bassett was later married to Hi Bernard and Frank Willis. She died May 8, 1956.

Elizabeth Bassett - Mother of Ann and Josie Bassett. Married Herb Bassett September 21, 1871.

Herb Bassett - Father of Ann and Josie Bassett. Bassett was born July 31, 1834. Married Elizabeth Bassett on September 21, 1871. Bassett moved to Brown's Park from Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Bassett's hired Butch Cassidy to work on their ranch and the outlaw quickly became part of the family.

Josie Bassett - Born Josephine Bassett to Herb and Elizabeth Bassett on January 17, 1874. May have dated Butch Cassidy while he was in the Brown's Park area. Married Jim MacKnight and had two sons together - Crawford and Herbert "Chick" MacKnight. After separating from MacKnight, Josie was married three more times to Charles Cranney, Emerson Wells, and Ben Morris. Josie died May 1, 1964.

James A. Beattie - San Miguel County Sheriff. Formed posse that pursued the Telluride bank robbers. Later arrested Bill Madden, suspected of delivering the outlaws supplies (Bill's half-brother Bert was named as a suspect in the robbery.). Madden was later released.

Edward Beeler - Sheriff. Formed a posse to hunt down Harvey Logan and Will Carver after the two men were spotted in St. Johns, Arizona. Eventually Beeler gave up the chase. Two members of his posse continued the hunt and were killed by Logan.

Lula Parker Betenson - Born April 5, 1884, Lula is the younger sister of Robert LeRoy Parker. Betenson is the author of Butch Cassidy, My Brother released in 1975. Lula married Joseph Betenson on December 31, 1907 and together the couple had five children; Pauline, Scott, Mark, John and Barbara.

Walter Birchfield - New Mexico rancher. Birchfield was with Sheriff George Scarborough following Harvey Logan and Will Carver when Logan got the jump on the two men. Birchfield was wounded in the confrontation and Scarborough later died from his injuries.

Arturo Bishop - Assistant manager of the del Banco de Tarapaca in Rio Gallegos, Argentina. Present when two bandits robbed the bank on February 13, 1905. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were named as suspects.

Andrew Blachly - Cashier on duty at the Farmers & Merchants Bank during the ill-fated robbery by Tom, Bill and Fred McCarty. Blachly was shot and killed by Tom McCarty when he screamed for help.

Alex Black - Saloon owner in Malta, Montana and close friend of the Sundance Kid. Was arrested with Sundance following the robbery of a Great Northern train by Sundance, Bill Madden and Harry Bass. Black was later released without being charged.

George D. Bliss - Owner of the CS Ranch located approximately fourteen miles east of Winnemucca, Nevada. It is believed that the Sundance Kid, Harvey Logan and Will Carver stayed at the CS Ranch prior to robbing the First National Bank of Winnemucca on September 19, 1900.

Bowie - First name unknown. One of two men arrested in connection with the robbery of a Southern Pacific train near Humboldt, Nevada. Both men were later released when they were able to provide alibis.

Mary Boyd - Believed to be one of Butch Cassidy's girlfriend's in the Lander, Wyoming area. Later corresponded with William T. Phillips, the man who claimed to be Butch Cassidy. Phillips gave Boyd a ring inscribed "Geo. C. to Mary B."

George Brown - Employee of Matt Warner on Warner's Diamond Mountain ranch. Following the Telluride robbery, Warner signed over the ranch to Brown, Neils Olson and Johnny Nicholson.

M.C. Brown - Former Wyoming judge. Was enlisted to serve as prosecutor in first of two horse theft trials against Butch Cassidy and Al Hainer. Brown took the place of Will Simpson who bowed out of the trial due to his relationship with Cassidy.

William "Bill" Brown - Partnered with Dan Parker in the robbery of a mail stagecoach near Rawlins, Wyoming.

Burt Bruce - Mail clerk employed by the Union Pacific Railroad. Bruce was present during the Wilcox, Wyoming train robbery by members of the Wild Bunch.

Elijah "E.S." Bryant - Sheriff. On April 2, 1901, Bryant attempted to arrest Will Carver in Sonora, Texas for the murder of Oliver C. Thornton. The confrontation turned into a shootout and Carver was killed by Bryant.

Ed Bullion - Brother of Laura Bullion, the girlfriend of Ben Kilpatrick. Bullion was killed during the attempted robbery of a Southern Pacific train at Stein’s Pass, New Mexico by the Ketchum Gang. In the article Tom Ketchum & His Gang by Jeffrey Burton and published in the February 2002 edition of Wild West Magazine, Burton states that it was not Ed Bullion who was killed but Edward “Ed” H. Cullen. Burton goes on to say that Laura Bullion did not have a brother named Ed, her only brother was named Daniel and was still alive long after the robbery.)

E.R. Burker - Ex-convict who teamed up with "Gunplay" Maxwell in Reno, Nevada to steal a large amount of jewelry from Maxwell's new wife, Bessie Hume.

J.R. Bush - U.S. Deputy Marshal. Bush was a member of the posse pursuing the Pleasant Valley Coal Company payroll robbers. After Joe Walker and another man were killed, Bush sent a telegram to Utah governor Heber Manning Wells announcing the death of Butch Cassidy.

I.V. “Vic” Button - Son of F.J. Button, the superintendent of the CS Ranch outside Winnemucca. Ten years old at the time of the Winnemucca robbery, Button recalls Butch Cassidy as one of the outlaws staying at the CS Ranch prior to the robbery. Button was admiring Cassidy's white horse one day when the outlaw told him, “You like that horse? Someday it will be yours.” Shortly after the robbery, a ranch hand delivered the horse to Button. Many believe this story to be legend as Cassidy was supposedly in Wyoming participating in the Wild Bunch robbery of a Union Pacific train near Tipton. There are pictures of Button riding the horse in question, it's up to you to decide how he came to possess it.

F.J. Button - Superintendent of the CS Ranch outside Winnemucca, Nevada and father of I.V. "Vic" Button, alleged witness to Butch Cassidy's prescience near Winnemucca at the time of the First National Bank of Winnemucca robbery. Prior to the robbery, the outlaws are believed to have camped out at the CS Ranch.

Calhoun - First name unknown. Stenographer employed by the First National Bank of Winnemucca present during the robbery.

H.J. Calhoun - Constable. Member of Sheriff Dunn's posse out of Red Lodge, Montana in pursuit of the Sundance Kid, Harvey Logan and Walt Punteney after the trio attempted to bribe a town marshal. The posse was successful and captured all three men.

Bob Calverly - Deputy Sheriff of Uinta County. Calverly was enlisted by rancher John Chapman to help find Butch Cassidy and Al Hainer who were wanted in Lander, Wyoming for horse theft. After several attempts, Calverly and Chapman were able to apprehend the two men.

Dick Carey - Known as "Laughing" Dick Carey or “Gaping Dick” Carey. Reportedly a member of the Wild Bunch although in what capacity is not known. In March 1903, newspapers reported posses were in pursuit of Carey in Wyoming, attempting to rid the area of the outlaw before the arrival of President Roosevelt.

Edmund Carlisle - Co-owner of the Carlisle Ranch in Utah with his brother Harold. The ranch had a reputation of being friendly to outlaws and it is believed that Tom McCarty and Matt Warner stayed there prior to the San Miguel Valley Bank robbery in Telluride, Colorado.

E.L. Carpenter - Paymaster of the Pleasant Valley Coal Company. After picking up the payroll on April 21, 1897, Carpenter was robbed by Butch Cassidy and Elzy Lay

Lee Case - Resident of Winnemucca, Nevada, nine-years-old at the time of the First National Bank of Winnemucca robbery. Case remember three, sometimes four, men in town leading up to the robbery. He says the outlaws asked him a lot of questions about the town and the bank.

Mike Cassidy - Cassidy was a drifter with an outlaw past - primarily cattle rustling and horse theft. Cassidy would become something of a mentor to Robert LeRoy Parker soon after they met on Jim Marshall's ranch in Utah. Cassidy gave Parker his first saddle and gun, teaching the younger man how to shoot. Parker would later take Cassidy's last name in tribute to his friend and mentor.

Bert Charter - One of many names brought up as the possible fourth man involved in the San Miguel Valley Bank robbery in Telluride, Colorado. Charter's son claims Butch Cassidy spent a summer camping on his father's ranch sometime in 1925.

Boyd Charter - Bert Charter's son. Charter tells of an incident during the summer of 1925, when Charter was 17 years old. A friend of his father’s spent part of the summer camping the family ranch near Jackson, Wyoming. Charter later overheard his father tell Will Simpson that the camper was his old friend Butch Cassidy.

Parley P. Christiansen - Juab County Sheriff. An old friend of the Parker family, Christiansen arranged a meeting between Butch Cassidy and Utah governor Heber Manning Wells during Cassidy's failed attempt to go straight.

Teenie Christianson - Sister of Matt Warner. Teenie was married to Tom McCarty before her untimely death.

Jim Clark - Telluride town marshal. Gunnison County Sheriff Doc Shores claimed Clard confessed to receiving a payoff of $2,200 from the San Miguel Valley Bank robbers in exchange for "disappearing" while the robbery took place. Sometime later, members of the Wild Bunch would attempt to bribe another town marshal to less than stellar results.

E.B. Coleman - Under the guise of helping Coleman move his mining camp, Matt Warner and Bill Wall traveled with Coleman to the Uintah Mountains. Once they arrived, the group was confronted by Ike and Dick Staunton and Dave Milton, who were involved in a feud with Coleman. A firefight broke out resulting in the deaths of Dick Staunton and Dave Milton. Warner, Wall and Coleman soon found themselves on trial for their murders.

Justo P. Concha - Captain in the Bolivian army. Concha was involved in the San Vicente shootout with the Aramayo Mining Co. payroll bandits.

J. Cook - One of three men arrested in the Club Saloon robbery in Elko, Nevada. All three were later released when they were able to produce alibis.

Jim O'Connor - Inmate in the Sundance jail with Harry Longabaugh. The two men made an escape attempt on May 1, 1888. Sundance was overpowered before he could leave the jail, O'Connor escaped, but was recaptured several hours later.

Alonzo Craven - Employee of the 3V Ranch in Sundance, Wyoming. Craven's horse and saddle outfit was stolen by Harry Longabaugh on February 27, 1887.

Charlie Crouse - Rancher friend of Matt Warner. When Warner, Butch Cassidy and Tom McCarty were on the run following the Telluride bank robbery, Crouse allowed the men to hide out in a cabin on his property. Crouse later opened a saloon in Vernal, Utah.

Fred Cruickshank - Bear Lake County, Idaho Deputy Sheriff. Was the first officer to respond to the Bank of Montpelier robbery. Unarmed, Cruickshank pursued the escaping bandits on a bicycle before giving up.

E.K. "Eph" Davis - Custer County Deputy Sheriff. Captured the Sundance Kid in Miles City, Montana in June 1887 following the Kid's escape from his previous arrest by Sheriff James Ryan.

M. Jefferson Davis - Sheriff of Bear Lake County, Idaho. Organized a makeshift posse to pursue the Montpelier bank robbers. The posse soon ditched Davis and his deputy Mike Malone. The retreating posse heard gunfire and assumed the worst. Davis and Malone returned several hours later and read about their own deaths the following day in the paper.

Maude Davis - First wife of Elzy Lay. The couple divorced after Lay refused to give up the outlaw life. The couple had one daughter together-Marvel Lay Murdock. Maude Davis died July 22, 1958.

John Dessart - President of the International Bank in Nogales, Arizona. On August 6, 1896, members of the Ketchum Gang attempted to rob the bank. Dessart made a mad dash for the door and escaped before the outlaws could do anything to stop him.

Frank Dimaio - Pinkertons operative sent to South America to track Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. In Argentina, Dimaio met with US Vice Consul George Newberry and was advised not to travel into Cholila until after the rainy season was over. Dimaio returned to the United States but kept in contact with Newberry.

Tom Dilly - Utah outlaw known to associate with "Flat Nose" George Currie. Dilly was with Currie when "Flat Nose" was killed by Sheriff Jesse M. Tyler near Price, Utah.

Fred Dodge - Wells Fargo agent who discovered the "Fort Worth Five" photograph. Legend has it Dodge was walking by the John Swartz Photography Studio when he noticed Will Carver's face staring back at him from the display window. Dodge obtained a copy of the photograph and distributed it to authorities nationwide.

Gus Donant - Sheriff of Price, Utah. Donant organized a posse to pursue the Castle Gate payroll robbers and called on the nearby towns of Huntington and Castle Dale to do the same. Prior to Castle Gate, Donant submitted a bid to deputize "Gunplay" Maxwell, a notorious Utah bandit.

Dow - First name unknown. Warden of the Utah State Penitentiary. Worked with Uintah County District Attorney Samuel A. King to secure the release of Matt Warner after his second arrest for the Coleman Affair.

Albert Duckett - Employed by the Chicago-Rock Island Express as a fireman. Was present during the July 3, 1902 robbery by two men later suspected to be Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

John Dunn - Carbon County, Montana Sheriff. Organized posse to pursue the Sundance Kid, Harvey Logan and Walt Punteney after they attempted to bribe a town marshal in Red Lodge. After a brief shootout, the posse captured the outlaws.

Tom Fares - After Butch Cassidy was spotted picking up supplies in Green River, Fares led a posse to search for the outlaws. Spotting the posse taking a wrong turn into a box canyon, Matt Warner elected to let the posse know. After leading the posse to water, Warner overheard Fares talk of wanting to continue the pursuit. Infuriated by his ungratefulness, Warner got the jump on the men, took Fares saddle and pants, forcing the humiliated sheriff to ride back to town bareback.

Edward Farr - Huerfano County Sheriff. Farr and posse discovered Sam Ketchum, Elzy Lay and Will Carver as they were hiding out in the Turkey Creek Canyon following the robbery of a Colorado & Southern Flyer train near Folsom, New Mexico. A shootout broke out between the two parties, leaving Farr dead and Ketchum and Lay badly wounded.

George Fuller - Butte County, South Dakota Sheriff. Organized a posse to pursue the Belle Fourche bank robbers but was unable to catch the outlaws.

Melville Fuller - Named as a suspect in the First National Bank of Winnemucca robbery. Was brought before George Nixon, co-owner of the bank and present during the robbery, but Nixon was unable to identify him.

Jim Gass - Circleville neighbor of Parker family who claims to have seen Butch Cassidy in California following the San Vicente shootout. Gass says he saw Cassidy boarding a train and the two men waved to each other, but the train left before they could speak.

Andrew Gibbons - Along with Frank LeSeuer, continued the hunt for Harvey Logan and Will Carver after the posse led by Edward Beeler broke off the pursuit. Logan got the jump on the two men and killed them both.

Alanson Giles - A hardware store in Belle Fourche, South Dakota across the street from the Butte County Bank. Witnessed the bank being robbed by members of the Wild Bunch and sounded the alarm. As a result, the outlaws only got away with $97.00

Cal Hale - One of three men arrested for the Benjamin E. Snipes & Co. payroll robbery in Roslyn, Washington. All three men were positively identified by bank employees present during the robbery, but later released when it became apparent the robbery was pulled off by The Invincible Three.

Oliver Hallman - Brother-in-law of Harry Longabaugh. Married to Samanna Longabaugh.

Al Hainer - Friend and partner of Butch Cassidy. The two men shared a cabin together in the Horse Creek area of Wyoming. Hainer and Cassidy later were put on trial over some stolen horses Cassidy purchased from a young stranger. Hainer was eventually found not guilty, while Cassidy was convicted leading many to believe that Hainer cut a deal with the prosecution.

Frank Hamilton - Partner with Harry Longabaugh in a saloon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The partnership soon dissolved.

Frank Harrington - Conductor of a Colorado & Southern train assaulted twice by the Ketchum's. Once by Sam Ketchum, Will Carver and Elzy Lay, and again by "Black Jack" Ketchum single-handedly. For the second attempt, Harrington was ready and shot "Black Jack" in the arm with a shotgun. Ketchum was later captured and the arm amputated.

Jerry Havert - Messenger Clerk employed by the Great Northern Railroad. Was present during the Malta, Montana robbery by the Sundance Kid, Bill Madden and Harry Bass. Claimed he did not know the combination to the safes, the outlaws believed him.

Mary Agnes Haynes - Resident of Silver City, New Mexico. Reported Butch Cassidy visited her mother sometime in 1936 or 1937.

Josiah Hazen - Converse County Sheriff. Along with Natrona County Sheriff Oscar Hiestand, Hazen led a posse following the Wilcox, Wyoming train robbery. When the posse confronted the outlaws a firefight broke out and Hazen was shot in the abdomen. He died the following day in Rawlins.

Andrew Hendrickson - Childhood rival of Matt Warner. The two teenagers got into a fight over the affections of Alice Sabey. Warner beat Hendrickson over the head wit a fence post until he thought he had killed the boy. Afterwards, Warner escaped Levan and began life anew on the outlaw trail.

Oscar Hiestand - Natrona County Sheriff. Part of posse that confronted the Wilcox, Wyoming train robbers. Converse County Sheriff Josiah Hazen, also a member of the posse, was shot in the stomach by Harvey Logan and died the following day.

Malvin Hill - Named as a suspect in the First National Bank of Winnemucca robbery. Was brought before George Nixon, co-owner of the bank and present during the robbery, but Nixon was unable to identify him.

Sam Hildreth - Came across The Invincible Three as the bandits were en route to Moscow, Idaho to rob the Forepaugh Circus. After a bragging match with Tom McCarty, Hildreth agreed to join the outlaws in the robbery. Shortly before arriving Hildreth went missing. When The Invincible Three arrived at the circus it became obvious the circus was tipped off to thier plans, presumably by Hildreth.

Ole Hobeck - Along with Ben Kilpatrick, Hobeck attempted to rob a Southern Pacific train near Sanderson, Texas. Both men were killed in the attempt.

Bart Holbrook - One of three men arrested in the Club Saloon robbery in Elko, Nevada. All three were later released when they were able to produce alibis.

J.W. Holstein - Hotel owner. After the Chicago-Rock Island Express robbery Holstein came forward to say he had three boarders he believed were casing the area. After being shown photographs, Holstein believed one of the men resembled the Sundance Kid.

Tom Horn - Former Pinkertons agent, later hanged for murder after his confession to Joe LeFors. Rumor had it that Butch Cassidy was hired to free him before his execution, however Cassidy was in South America at the time.

Bert Madden - Half-brother of Bill Madden. May have participated in the Telluride bank robbery watching over the horses. Bert was later arrested in the process of delivering supplies to someone, presumably the bandits. He was later released.

Bill Madden - Half-brother of Bert Madden. A former saloon keeper, Madden eventually took up the outlaw life and rode with the Wild Bunch. Involved in the Malta train robbery along with the Sundance Kid and Harry Bass. Madden was arrested for the crime and sentenced to 14 years in prison.

William Maginnis - Judge who sentenced Harry Longabaugh for the theft of a horse, saddle outfit and pistol from employees of the 3V Ranch in Sundance, Wyoming.

Mike Malone - Deputy Sheriff of Bear Lake County, Idaho. Was a member of the makeshift posse to pursue the Montpelier bank robbers. The posse soon ditched Davis and his deputy Mike Malone. The retreating posse heard gunfire and assumed the worst. Davis and Malone returned several hours later and read about their own deaths the following day in the paper.
