March 4, 1881 - James A. Garfield becomes the 20th president of the United States.

September 19, 1881 - Chester A. Arthur becomes the 21st president of the United States after the assassination of James A. Garfield.

January 31, 1882 - Harry Longabaugh issued library card through the Young Men's Literary Union in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.

August 30, 1882 - Harry Longabaugh leaves Pennsylvania for the West with his cousin, George Longenbaugh.

April 1884 - Ann Parker leaves the Marshall ranch for the family home in Circleville.

April 5, 1884 - Lula Parker Betenson born in Circleville, Utah.

June 1884 - Robert LeRoy Parker leaves home.

June 1884 - Two boys in Circleville are accused of stealing cattle. In their defense, they produce a bill of sale from Robert LeRoy Parker.

July 1, 1884 - Allan Pinkerton dies in Chicago, Illinois.

March 4, 1885 - Grover Cleveland becomes the 22nd president of the United States.

Early Summer 1885 - Robert LeRoy Parker jailed after being involved in a dispute over ownership of his colt, Cornish.

February 27, 1887 - Harry A. Longabaugh steals a horse, saddle outfit and pistol from employees of the 3V Ranch in Sundance, Wyoming.

April 8, 1887 - Harry A. Longabaugh arrested in Miles City, Montana. He later escapes.

June 1887 - Harry A. Longabaugh recaptured in Miles City, Montana.

June 9, 1887 - Daily Yellowstone Journal publishes letter to the editor written by Harry A. Longabaugh.

August 5, 1887 - Harry A. Longabaugh sentenced to 18 months in the Wyoming Territorial Prison, however he serves his time in Sundance, Wyoming. 

November 3, 1887 - Eastbound Denver & Rio Grande passenger train robbed near Grand Junction, Colorado.

1888 - Robert LeRoy Parker and Matt Warner hire on at the Spectator Ranch in Colorado.

May 1, 1888 - Harry A. Longabaugh makes an unsuccessful attempt to escape from the Sundance, Wyoming jail.

January 1888 - Cook County prosecutor, H.A. Alden, petitions Wyoming governor Thomas Moonlight to pardon Harry A. Longabaugh.

February 4, 1889 - Harry A. Longabaugh officially pardoned by Wyoming governor Thomas Moonlight one day prior to his scheduled release.

Spring 1889 - Robert LeRoy Parker hired on at the Bassett ranch in Brown's Park, Utah. 

March 4, 1889 - Benjamin Harrison becomes the 23rd president of the United States.

March 30, 1889 - First National Bank of Denver robbery in Denver, Colorado.

May 1889 - Harry A. Longabaugh (hereafter referred to as the Sundance Kid) involved in confrontation between Buck Hanby and Deputy Sheriff Jim Swisher.

June 1889 - Will Carver employed at the Sixes Ranch near Sonora, Texas. Ben Kilpatrick, Tom & Sam Ketchum also working on the ranch.

June 24, 1889 - San Miguel Valley Bank robbery in Telluride, Colorado.
